Method
- In a large pot begin by bringing the water to a boil adding in the cinnamon sticks and piloncillo until it dissolves.
- Add in the prunes, hibiscus, orange peel and tejocotes. Simmer for about 10 min on medium heat.
- Add in the rest of the fruit guavas, apple, sugarcane and let them simmer for another 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add in the bottle of Red California wine.
- Serve while it is still warm. Load a variety of the fruit into a mug topping it off with the ponche. Enjoy!
